Entry Level/Tech 1

Convergence Cabling is a structured cabling contractor who performs work with general contractors and directly with business owners. Structured cabling is the foundation for network connectivity for computers, cameras, displays, wireless access points, and much more.

CCI has been in operation for 26 years and is known in the industry for delivering best-in-class quality service.

The tasks include
  • Creating and building pathways with basket trays, J-hooks, fire sleeves, and conduit
  • Roughing cable from IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) to each workstation; each pull can be as few as 1–3 cables and greater than 10,000
  • Build out IDF with ladder rack, relay rack, cabinets, and wire management
  • Dress and land cables in IDF from fire sleeve to the patch panel within rack or cabinet
  • Terminate cables per specified requirements (568A or 568B)
  • Label and document cables
  • Certify and test cables
  • Install owner-furnished devices (access points, switches, monitors...)
  • Install speakers, cameras, projectors, monitors, and other devices (varies by project).
Skills/Qualifications Required
  • 0–3 years of construction or structured cabling experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to be flexible on work hours, nights, and weekends when needed
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • A strong desire to show pride in the effort put forth and the finished product delivered to the client.
Other Requirements
  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Stand for long periods of time (4–8 hours)
  • Climb flights of stairs
  • Climb ladders
  • Use a scissor lift or be willing to take the certification to do so
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Arrive to work on time with minimal absences (less than 3 attendance instances within the first 90 days)
  • Provide own transportation
  • Own a personal hand tool kit or commit to building your own tool bag (cordless drill, screwdrivers, ratchet set, punch tool, snips)
  • Work within a 75-mile “as the crow flies” radius of the office
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance, one that represents Convergence Cabling standards.
  • Participate in online training to include 10-hour OSHA

Tech 2

The tasks include

  • 3+ years of construction or structured cabling experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to be flexible on work hours, nights, and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • A strong desire to show pride in the effort put forth, and the finished product delivered to the client.
  • Proficiency in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper

  • Lead a large work crew while keeping employees and the work area safe
  • Engage in positive open communication with the on-site GC/customer in order to deliver best-in-class quality service.
Skills/Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of construction or structured cabling experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to be flexible on work hours, nights, and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • A strong desire to show pride in the effort put forth and the finished product delivered to the client.
  • Proficiency in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber
  • Ability to supervise small and large work crews
